Welcome to Madeira Star, a unique cafe restaurant in Kennington that has been a beloved part of the community since 1996. Madeira Star was born out of a passion for our hometown of Madeira island and a dream to create a place where people could come together to enjoy great food, warm hospitality, and a sense of community.

We're determined to create something special, something that honors our roots and brings a taste of our culture to the bustling city of London. “Incredible local Portuguese restaurant serving breakfast all day, sandwiches, paninis, pastas and many other dishes. They even to takeaway food! We had breakfast and the price was cheap and the portions were really generous! Will come back soon!"

"I genuinely think this is the best cafe of all time. Everything is so fresh and delicious. They have a huge menu but they prepare everything so well. If you order for delivery the food comes well packed, hot and delicious - usually super quick. If you go in person the place is clean and the staff are polite and friendly. My favourite dishes are Bifana no Pão with Onions & Egg, the Meat Lasagne and any of the set breakfasts. A real kennington institution, we'd be so worse off without the heart and soul the Portuguese community offers to this area of London."

The amount of food on the menu might seem a little off putting (jack of all trades, master of none style), but looking around the room everything genuinely seemed really nice!”
